The 2nd XV snatched a late winner in injury time to record their first win of the season away at Aberavon Green Stars winning 19-21. In a hard fought encounter, the team showed real courage in defence to limit AGS to 3 tries in the first half and posting their first score just before half time through Neil "Nutty" Thomas. Neath Athletic had to soak up a lot of pressure in the second half, but took control of the game in the last 10 minutes with Captain Mike Piles bulldozering his way over closely followed by replacement Dom Jones diving in under the posts from 20 yards out and outside half Arin Gulsen converted all three.
